Holly tried not to let on, but she was thrilled! She had so many new maybe-friends, and they were all off on a journey together that was sure to leave lasting bonds. Or at least cracked pads, she realized with a grimace as the rough cave floor grated against her paws. She’d taken up a position just behind Arden, and tried to match his steps when possible. This guy knew what he was talking about. Still, the small she-wolf remained silent. Harley was bubbly enough for all of them right now.

Arden's delightfully prickly exterior was only improved by the new appearance of two more wolves. At least this pair seemed old enough to fend for themselves in the little light left before the cave swallowed the growing group. So many of the wolves wandering the mountains were apparently young ones searching for their own adventure. At least Harley knew how to make good company. The leader of the pair, seemingly a nicer version of Arden, offered to lead the way. Honestly, Harley was much more inclined to follow this stranger than the bear of a wolf she had encountered first. At least these guys seemed nice, Arden was practically a cactus with sentience. She let her ears brush against the roof of the smaller area the large male beside her had to duck through, she left her bright grin on her face even though it was hard to see. "You just happen to be heading to the coast, too, huh?" Arden's voice rang through the cave, displeasure with his increasing company hitting delighted ears. She would crack this tough nut, she knew it. She wasn't about to try as they were navigating through. He seemed like someone you could dance around if he got mad, and in the close quarters of an unfamiliar cave system, she figured it would be best to save the pushing of buttons for later. "As long as y'all can work together an' git us through here without bangin' our heads against the wall, I don't care who leads!" the spicy she-wolf's voice echoed through the cave. Light pink eyes scanned each of her companions, waiting expectantly for someone to take charge. She would follow closely in whoever's footsteps, falling uncharacteristically quiet to let navigation be the focus of the leader. -Exit to: Calming Coastline- OOC: I figure since there's been a timeskip to winter, we can move to the Coastline and them pick up a few weeks later in winter either as a group or split up - we can plot in discord! Shale was hardly the type to do much arguing, especially when it came to bits of sage advice that had been around much longer than he had. But when it came to the old adage of “safety in numbers-” well, there he had his doubts. Which was why, as amicable as they seemed, this pair of newcomers, like just about everything else, made him decidedly nervous. As far as he was concerned, the more of them there were, the more things that could go wrong…especially when staring down the gaping black maw of a cave system that was sounding more maze-like and dangerous by the second. At least the darker of the two newcomers seemed to know something about where they were and how they could get to where they wanted to be. That was reassuring…although Arden, predictably, sounded less than thrilled about it. Harley, also predictably, plunged straight into the caves without a second’s hesitation, her bright smile not diminished at all even as the darkness swallowed it up. Shale hung back a bit, waiting for the rest of their suddenly-expanded group to file in. Bringing up the rear would be safest, wouldn’t it? More people to follow, less of an opportunity to get lost. Unless, of course, something else decided to follow him, in which case he’d be the first target- Lost in momentary panic, he suddenly realized that the others had already started off down the narrow, winding passages of the cave. They’d be out of sight in another second, and no matter what might be waiting for them down in that dark maze, he’d rather face it alongside some company than stay out here, by himself, sharing these lonely mountains with who-knew-what dangers. Mustering up as much courage as he could, he took a deep breath and squeezed his way into the cave, trying to ignore the way the close stone walls made his racing heartbeat echo in his ears. All I have to do is keep putting one foot in front of the other, stay on the right path and not step on anyone’s foot. How hard can all that be?
