Slowly doing his best to stand after regaining some of his consciousness back, he meandered over to where some commotion was being held, though only after dipping his head in acknowledgement to the wolf who had spoken to him once more. Still having not a clue as to who the wolf was, nor the name of said wolf, that was all Duefas was able to do at the moment. Smile and nod, smile and nod. The small coywolf that was currently surrounded by quite a few of the wolves that had joined the now gathering party, and seemed quite fearful. Duefas couldn't even blame her at this point, she had probably witnessed whatever had happened to him, and hid. Only to be found and scared with a loud, “Boo,” that made his ears ring while in his current state of half-consciousness. “Heyyy, y’aaalll…I thinnkk, yeeoouuu shhhoulld maaybee, uhhh…baaackk awayyy from errr.” he tried to say, greatly slurring his words to the point that they were barely eligible. Not even noticing that it had happened, Duefas himself back up a few steps as well, giving the other wolves room to do the same to accommodate for the very stricken looking coywolf. The concussion he had suffered was very obviously doing some damage to him, whether permanent or not, only time would tell. _________________________________________ Pree @tamren Mink Hoshi

A sudden flash of anger, or a yelp of surprise, maybe; she expected anything but the silence that followed, hung in the air a few beats too long. Then, the wolf began to move as if he were underwater—slow, uncoordinated, unseeing. That’s…A distant “Boo!” stole her attention, but Mink whipped right back around as the standing male declared his intention to play hide and seek and gods, was he really about to— “Hey, hey!” Despite the space she’d planted between them, the tumbler came barreling right into her. The impact sent her stumbling backwards, and Mink fell onto her haunches in a pose that mirrored his own. She stared at him, making a stellar impression of a startled porcupine all the while. “Thanks to—wow. I mean, I wasn’t eager to take a fall after you did, no.” She rose to her paws, trying in vain to shake out the hackles in her fur. “Listen, he’s not actually doing okay...” She’d really like to get an uninterrupted look at his first victim. Except, said victim was currently wobbling towards the pair of wolves that had appeared further away from them. What the hell… Her legs were moving before her brain could catch up, carrying her to pace after the male, and pause beside him. She frowned when his slurs reached her ears; no, he definitely shouldn’t be moving right now. What had he been trying to say? Finally, Mink turned to the coywolf and the female who’d felt it appropriate to startle her. The little thing was trembling so badly, refusing to even open her eyes. Tail fanning upwards, she pinned her gaze on the tumbler and the orange female. She woofed to catch their attention, keeping her voice low. “I’m not sure why you each felt the need to approach a wolf that clearly did not want to be bothered. Do I really need to teach you about stranger danger? Or, I don’t know, personal space? She was keeping to herself for a reason,” Mink nodded to the smaller coywolf, “and he was sleeping before you gave him a friggin’ concussion. So, if you don’t mind, would you kindly give us some space right now. And if you think you’ve gone far enough, double that. And then double it again.” Hopefully that’d ward off any more surprise accidents, but she wasn’t holding her breath. Mink angled her head towards the be-pebbled coywolf. “Hey,” she breathed, as clear and as unthreatening as possible, “You should really take a seat. I’m just going to take a quick sniff to make sure you’re alright, okay?” She gave him a few beats to digest her words, repeating herself if necessary, before slowly lowering her nose just above his fur—close, but careful not to make actual contact. She took a breath at each ear, a quick sniff at his muzzle. No blood or fluid that she could detect. Mink reared back and squinted at his face next, noting even pupils in his strange golden eyes. She nodded to herself, and put a little more space between them. “Take your time. How are you feeling?” She cocked her head. “You remember what your name was before Clumsy over there put you out of sorts?” Amnesia was pretty unlikely, but the slurring had her a bit worried… Meanwhile, she kept an ear trained on the smaller female. She’d have shuffled them all away if she could, but it wasn’t in the male’s best interest to move right this second. Hopefully two bodies in her immediate vicinity were better than four. @duefas @tamren Hoshi Pree

Hoshi flinched. Her own “Boo!” had sounded much louder than she had anticipated. Yet, nothing could prepare her for the other smaller wolf’s piercing shriek. Startled by the fearful cry, Hoshi sprung backwards, before shrinking away with her tail tugged sheepishly between her legs. Oops, too far? She had noticed beforehand the stranger was already nervous, but never considered how her playful yap would shake her up even more. Gazing back at the look of pure terror in the other wolf's widened eyes, Hoshi gasped softly. "Sorry, uhm- too much..." she admitted to the confused frown of the other wolf, gulping when she noticed how the other had already lowered herself in submission. Her eyes were squeezed shut, as she began to shake even more vigorously in absolute fear. Alarm bells began ringing in Hoshi's head as she felt the sudden, false air of superiority surround her. This is wrong. All wrong. "Wait no- I won't hurt you," Hoshi began to crouch down to the same height with ears pressed against her head, racking her brains on what to do next. "Oh! Are we playing hide and seek? Dude, I love that game. I'll count this time." Hoshi jolted upwards, having forgotten that they had company. Ears flicked upwards, she turned abruptly to find a goofy he-wolf approaching them. Before she could react, she watched as he clumsily collided into an older-looking but equally small auburn wolf - to which Hoshi accidentally found herself nervously giggling at. "Heyyy...I think, yeouuuuu..." the other wolf that stirred from his lying position began to speak, but his words were stringed together unintelligibly. As he stumbled backwards, Hoshi felt something was off. As dazed as she was from all that had happened, she thought about rushing over to tend to him with what little herbal knowledge she held onto, but watched as the older she-wolf made her way over first. Then, a stern low voice erupted from her lips, "I’m not sure why you each felt the need to approach a wolf that clearly did not want to be bothered. Do I really need to teach you about stranger danger? Or, I don’t know, personal space? She was keeping to herself for a reason."Abashed, Hoshi leaned back, and gave a slight nod out of guilt. Paw-by-paw, she stepped backwards awkwardly to allow the poor shivering coywolf some space, which the more sensible rogue had spoken of. Hoshi decided she would and should stay quiet for now, watching keenly as the more experienced healer got down to work. Hopefully, he's alright.

He sat down a little too fast for normalcy, obeying the wolf’s order that was directed at him. Upon needed to ask the she-wolf kindly if she could repeat herself slower, so his brain could process the words, Duefas tried to answer t the best ability he could. Though with his concussed brain, it wasn’t really being a help to the matter.
Trying to speak his words were smushed together, and it wasn’t something he was even remotely aware of, as to him they sounded completely regular. “Dinnnggbaat, hmmm,” He paused for a few seconds, only to continue with doubt, “Nnooo, thhaaat isssnn't iitt…” he slurred, pondering once more.
In an excited tone Duefas spoke again once more, "Ooohh," he said, with what would sound as a light bulb moment, “I knooww nooww, itt’s Duummbaasss!”
With another feeling deep down that that wasn’t his name either, he went to rack his brain again.
After a few more moments of time, he started again.”III’mm soorryy, three geaarrss aarre geeettingg all sstuuck upp theerre. ‘Mm nott ‘xaaxxltyy suuree, buut I knooww itt’s sommeethinng duumbb. Noobodyy evver likess myy namee.” Having that be the longest he was able to go without another pause to think, the little thoughts he could hear turned sad.
No one had ever liked his name, they always either made fun of him, or would avoid him all together. That was why he was here, he couldn’t make any friends in his old pack. Though he loved his life in the pack, it was always hard for him, making friends. Anytime he would try to start a conversation with any of the males, they would just ignore him, which only made him feel unwanted.
And maybe that was what they wanted him to feel, he couldn’t tell. As far as the females went, they were absolute gems, they would talk with him and share stories and tricks all day long while he was growing up, they were the reason he chose to stay longer.
Gold eyes looking in a slow manner towards the still cowering and scared coywolf? His brain could’ve very well been making him hallucinate at this point. Blinking a few times, he looked to the little body once more. ‘So she really is a coywolf, how cool, I wonder if we could be friends.’
Though his mind made up his mind for him to not move from his sitting position next to the unnamed she-wolf, his thick tail wisped back and forth ever so slightly at the thought of finally having a friend outside of his pack. He didn’t even really know how wolves like these would do socializing. Clearly all they had proved at the given moment was,
They could probably skip rocks pretty well They most definitely were good at bad first impressions Most wolves were quite unaware of the stranger danger rule that Duefas thought everyone was taught as a young pup.
His mind slowly tuning back into the voice of the she-wolf who had a one of Casper’s friends as a title to address, he could barely catch the words that she had spoken before asking his name. How odd that was, answering the questions backwards. That certainly wasn’t something he did on a normal basis.
“Errmm, I’mm feeelingg,” he stopped, needing to think really hard about that part. “Howww, amm I feelliingg?” He asked under his breath to himself. “Umm, wellll…” he went back to his clouded thoughts again to find an acceptable-ish answer. “I feel, kinnndaaa froggy. Anndd, eyyy,” he slurred, in his greatest almost delusional state, to defend the flinger of the rock that had caused this whole ordeal. “It ainnn’t theeiir faaulltt thaatt the rockk wanntedd to kill mee, noow iss itt?” He asked looking to who he thought was Tamren, the one who had skipped a rock at his slumbering form’s head.
With every second becoming a fight to keep the fog from completely taking over, Duefas spoke ever so softly, “Mmm, yeaaahh. I’mmm noott feelling tooo goodd riiighhhtt bouuutt noww. Mjussttgonn takkeenapp.” With a very small window, there was a chance that the wolf would be able to keep Duefas from falling unconscious, though if they failed, he would fall into the darkness that was his mind, being enveloped in fog as if it were a thick, soft, warm blanket.
Translations:
“Dingbat, hmm. No, that isn’t it…I know now, Dumbass! Wait, no…that’s not it either. I’m sorry. The gears are getting all stuck up there. I’m not exactly sure, but I know its something dumb. Nobody ever likes my name.”
“Erm, I’m feeling…How am I feeling? Ummm, well…I feel kinda foggy. And, hey, it ain’t their fault that the rock wanted to kill me, now is it?”
“Umm, yeah. I’m not feeling too good right about now. Might just gonna take a nap.”

Now all the wolves had come up to her, with one.... not looking too swift. Had that rock really done that to him? Her frightened gaze turned to that of worry as she looked at his figure. He didn't seem like a mean wolf. The other wolf that had come up didn't seem too happy with the whole situation. But she didn't really seem mean, either. She actually stood up for her, chastising the now guilty looking wolf for scaring her. Pree actually felt bad, now. Seeing all these wolves up close, they were around her age. They were all still young and awkward and just trying to have fun. They weren't out to get her like some other wolves tended to. That thought, at the very least, subsided her fear a little, but her eyes still looked like they were going to pop out of her head as she watched them all, and she couldn't fully stop the trembling in her legs. There was just so many of them, and young or not, they were so much bigger than her. Even if they were harmless, she still couldn't help but feel intimidated in their presence. She looked to the one that had startled her. She looked so sad now, and Pree's heart ached for her. "Um, uh, i-it's okay! I'm, uh, I'm sorry....I just kind of, uh, I just, you know, I get scared, I guess? Uh, very easily. But, uh, y-you don't seem too bad!"She tried to manage some sort of a smile, but at best it seemed unsure. Even now she couldn't even meet the stranger's eyes. She could hear the wolf who had spoken on her behalf talking with the injured one, and Pree decided to go back over to them. She definitely felt safest around them, seeing as one was actively helping everyone, and the other honestly didn't seem all that different from her. Now that she looked closely at him, they even had the same eyes... Except those eyes had started to close, and Pree nervously darted forward. "No, wait! I don't think you should go to sleep! Let the nice wolf help you get better!"Except he was already asleep. "Oh..." She gave a defeated sigh. She wasn't even that loud, of course she couldn't keep him awake. Instead, she sat down, eyes fixated on his sides. As long as they moved up and down, he was breathing. Silently, she willed him to keep breathing. That was all she could do. It had been a few weeks since the mess of introductions and near fatalities.
Since then, the golden eyed coywolf had been under strict, but nice enough orders to rest by the she-wolf that had asked him all those questions weeks ago. Her name, he found out, was Mink. She was a sweet soul, and helped take care of both him, and the other little coywolf. As far as the other two wolves went however, he hadn’t seen much of them, though he had heard of their departures and comings with food and other things.
Since he was now cleared of being at too much of a risk for another concussion, Duefas was let free again. And good golly was he happy about that. The brute had never realized how amazing it was to be able to sleep in the open, not confined by a makeshift den that any off course rocks could get to him.
As it was now, all the thick coated canine wanted to do was enjoy the freedom that the grasslands provided. If Tamren happened to still be around at this hour, then he would probably try to chat or something. After all, from what he was filled in on, the wolf didn’t seem to purposefully cause Duefas an inconvenience. He hoped to make friends out here in this rough world. How was life supposed to be worthwhile if you didn’t make friends along the way?
Pree had proven to be a shy one, she didn’t really speak too much, but when she did Duefas made sure to listen. It was little things that made people’s lives easier and more pleasant. Maybe perhaps nobody ever bothered to listen to someone, well it could be that having someone actually caring enough to do so could change their whole life.
Duefas was one of a big heart. If he could help someone, even if it was with something so simple as listening to what they have to say, he would. As far as he could tell the little group that had gathered, even given their odd meet and greet, had potential to grow into a great group of friends. Even if they didn’t all stay together, they would still have the memories of their time together.
That was unless they got hit in the head with a rock hard enough to forget.

When the coywolf first went down, Mink settled in for a long, long night. There was no remedy to wake him, no healer’s trick. All she could do was keep a constant eye on him, watch for the rise and fall of his sides, and wait. Finally, finally, he came to, and Mink thanked the gods that he wasn’t lost in his sleep. She wondered, briefly, if Duefas was very lucky or unlucky. Passing out like that generally happened with more severe injuries, and it didn’t bode well. It wasn’t long ago that her own mentor had taken a hoof to her skull, never waking again. Still, one could often shake off the first impact, only to drop dead if a second came too soon. Mink made sure to tell him as much when she ordered him on bedrest. If she was snappy in those first few days, she passed it off as concern, the sternness of a healer preoccupied with her patient. She ignored the jealous pang that mingled with her relief, and decided that Duefas was lucky after all. It was only when he showed signs of improvement that she even considered giving him any medicine. As much as she hated sitting on her paws, herbs would mask the symptoms she needed to see. She went scouting for feverfew some days later, inviting Hoshi to come along. As it turned out, the younger female was naturally a little reserved, despite the earlier jump scare. Mink would’ve liked to have more to show her, but the pickings were slim this late into the year, and anyway the valley appeared to be too dry to comfortably support many of the dainty flowers. In the end the coywolf would have to ration a pitiful number of leaves and settle for some light exercises if he needed the pain relief. Meanwhile, she and Pree took on the plains, the smaller one sticking to her side and Mink finding that she enjoyed the company. Pree out-hunted her with ease, faster on her feet and clearly skilled on this terrain. They shared their score with the nest-bound brute, happy to hang out while he recovered. The conscious, actually intelligible version of Duefas was much more enjoyable, and as attentive as he could be to Pree from his place of rest. He was even charitable to Tamren. Mink couldn’t say the same— “He lost his footing three times. Three!”—but eventually the blunder was a distant memory. And eventually it was time for Duefas to leave the den. That, too, was an exercise in restraint, but he was well enough, and he had to go sooner or later. Rogues didn’t have the same security as pack wolves... and honestly? A diet of mice and the occasional hare wasn’t ideal. She was resting outside of the makeshift den, daydreaming about catching something bigger than a rodent, when something cold and sharp landed on her nose. Mink sneezed, shook her head, and closed her eyes again, thinking it was a fluke until another landed on her ear. Blinking somewhat tiredly, she looked up to the gray skies, eyes widening slightly as the little white crystals floated down to greet them. Snow! @duefas @tamren Pree Hoshi

She had been forgiven. Hoshi knew. Yet amongst her whimsical dreams, Hoshi could still see the pure, undiluted fear in the bulging, beady eyes of the coywolf. As the very memory popped into her mind, Hoshi felt a warm rush of shame towards her snout. She quickly buried her snout amongst her paws, despite having no one near enough to observe her. Hoshi had come to learn that the meek one was called Pree. And what a sweet and caring nature she had! The more her thoughts lingered over the incident, the more livid Hoshi grew. How could she have hurt such a gentle, loving wolf?! How did she let it happen? These questions singed her very soul, causing her to shift her tail uncomfortably. When the restlessness got the better of her, Hoshi finally cracked her eyes open, to be greeted by the mellow lights spilling in. Usually, by this time, she would have been up and hunting. She had figured that by busying herself with gathering hares, rodents and herbs, she would prove herself worthy of staying. A few times, she had even gone to retrieve some daisy-looking herbs with Mink! Her heart nearly skipped a beat when the older one first approached her while she was quietly slipping away to hunt by herself. After all, Hoshi did look up to the healer for her maturity and knowledge. Perhaps Mink had noticed how awkwardly she had been distancing herself from them. Yet, Hoshi still felt so uneasy following the wise one, after the bad taste she presumed to have left in the older one's mouth. Hoshi had received quite a mouthful for her rash introduction on their first meeting. She wondered how Mink regarded her, now as it is. While she tended to drift away into her daydreams easily, Hoshi made sure to listen attentively to Mink’s explanation about “feverfews”. They help with fevers and headaches. Just like Aspirin! Unable to find the right words, Hoshi remained mostly silent during their little trips, managing a few smiles when in need of a response. Nonetheless, she enjoyed the older one’s company. It wasn’t everyday a rogue healer is kind enough to share her experience! Thanks to Mink, she felt less distant, albeit still keeping to herself. She began going on hunts with Tamren in the mornings when Mink and Pree stayed by the unconscious wolf’s side. Those were a mess. They would bump into each other countless times, scaring many of their potential catches away. Both of them would then return with slight bruises and chuckles. Tamren was a friendly and caring fellow, and was fun to be with injuries aside. As for the concussed one, Hoshi had not quite gotten to know him. In the brief moments he was awake, Hoshi had watched him being guided outside by Mink to practise his balance. Duefas. Hoshi had learnt that was his name. Everytime she turned towards his den, she felt bad for him. How was it like to stay in that dingy hole for seemingly forever? So, when he finally climbed out on his own accord to lay under the blue skies, Hoshi cheered in her heart. It would take her a while to think about what to say to him today, having not interacted with him before. Today, Hoshi had risen a little later than usual. Her ears flopped down in worry the moment she realised that she might have to face those who were already awake. Were they already in the midst of a conversation? She didn’t want to butt in only to say nothing. Taking a deep breath, slowly but surely, Hoshi finally shifted her way out towards the daylight. Then, her flax yellow eyes watched as a shimmering thin sheet of ice drifted down from the sky. Mesmerised, she let her mouth hang open slightly. Snowflakes!! Something about how they gracefully floated down one after another brought peace to Hoshi. She felt a smile spread across her face as she looked on into the grasslands dusted with snow. The tranquil silence meant that the group hadn't gathered yet. With that, the orangeish-brown she-wolf heaved a sigh of relief. As the mist from her breath dissipated, it revealed an auburn figure sitting quietly by herself in the distance. Hoshi contemplated leaving her alone, afraid to disturb her quiet morning. Then again, she thought it might be rude to ignore her. Plucking up her courage, Hoshi finally headed right over to the older one. “Morning,” she greeted softly. Mink Pree @duefas @tamren

The days passed, and Duefas seemed to be getting better. That was his name, Pree found out, and it also turned out that he was a coywolf, like her. They obviously hadn't come from the same pack, but there was something nice about knowing they were the same. And the others just had to be the nicest wolves Pree had ever met. With this group, it was like there wasn't ever any conflict between their species. They treated her as a wolf, just like any other. It was nice. Pree was slowly growing to be a lot more comfortable around these wolves. Her restless nights grew less and less, as she began to feel safe enough to sleep. Although she spent most of her time looking after Duefas, still scared something might happen and he wouldn't be okay anymore, she slowly began to mingle with the others as well. There was still some tension between her and Hoshi, the latter still feeling immense guilt over having scared her. And that made Pree feel bad, for having such an extreme reaction. Hoshi really was a nice wolf. Mink often invited Pree to go hunting, and the coywolf actually enjoyed those outings. Pree could almost forget she wasn't at home anymore. Chasing down rabbits, it was always so much fun, and Pree found she always returned to the others with a smile afterwards. She still didn't quite know how she felt about Tamren. He was a nice wolf, Pree understood that well enough, but he could be a bit too much. He had a lot of energy, something Pree didn't know how to react to. She was always on the calmer side herself, and it often got a bit.... overbearing. Today, she saw that Duefas was out and about, and Pree smiled, thankful to see him getting so active. Quietly, she went to sit beside him, giving him a dip of her head in greeting. Mink, Hoshi, @duefas, @tamren

With the nearing form of Pree heading his way, Duefas dipped his head toward her in greeting. “Morning Pree.” She sat next to him, silent. It was like that for a little while. Quiet. His gold eyes just watched the tree branches sway softly in the wind, flicking over to some birds flying overhead. As the birds became mere specks in the sky, the male got to thinking. Today was officially his first day he was out and about, so why not do something interesting. His thoughts reeling, before being interrupted by the soundly grumbling of his stomach. Laughing a bit, Duefas stood, shaking out his fur.
Looking to Pree, he spoke in a light tone, wagging his tail happily. “Hey, would ya mind coming with me to catch something to eat?” It was always a pleasure to hunt with others but he was sure Mink wouldn’t be too fond of him hunting alone, even though she did set him free from the confined den.
Sniffing the air, Duefas smelled the scent of some rabbits being blown towards them. They would be a perfect snack. Maybe they could even bring back one to Mink. That was if Pree decided to go with him.

As he stalked towards the rabbit burrows, he caught the faint smell of smoke. Pausing, he looked upwards, trying to find at least which direction the source could be. Duefas' eyes widened as he saw that whatever it was that blew the smoke over, was in fact quite close to where their little group stayed. Making a plan in his head as to what he was going to try and remember to do, he started off with the first thing. Hunting with Pree. If there was a fire or something close by, nobody could be of any help if they were too weak to put effort into saving someone. Though hopefully, nobody would be around any sort of fire. The second thing he would attempt to do was warn the others about the potential fire, so that they would have time to do whatever it was that they would want to do. As for himself, he would like to go find out if the source of the smoke really was a fire, or if perhaps he was just imagining it. That could be part of the brain whatever stuff Mink told me about. The coywolf resumed his stalker towards the rabbit burrows, flicking his ears in irritation that he could now only focus on the smokey smell. Closing his eyes and taking a deep breath, Duefas' nose twitched for a mere second as he recognized himself on the hunt. His paws stopped, his body following suit as his ears sensed the movement of at least one rabbit underneath the earth. The male waited a few moments, then a few more, just to make sure he had pinpointed the right burrow before letting a 'woof' down the tunnelish system. Almost as expected, a rabbit bounded out of the hole on his far left side, trying to avoid leaving through the exit that he had made all of the sound and movement from. What shocked him a bit more, was the snake that slithered out right behind the rabbit. Taking a few steps backwards, he watched as the snake went for the rabbit, biting it with its fangs before declaring the small mammal its meal. I guess it wasn't running from me after all.Now stumped, as his hunting plan washed away hopelessly, Duefas trudged back over to Pree with his head hung lower than when he had left. "Well that sucked." He said, slight annoyance making his tail flick. "There was a rabbit…until a snake decided there wasn't gonna be anymore." He huffed, a bit frustrated that the first time he got to leave the den without supervision, and he couldn't even catch a rabbit. Bright golden eyes looked to his friend as he spoke again, this time more cautiously, "Don't think I'm crazy or nothing, but do you see smoke over there," he guestured towards the sky off a bit aways, "or do you even smell smoke? Or is it just my brain being foggy still?" As he finished his questioning, his paws shuffled in the dirt having subconsciously made a little mound of dirt by the time he realized what he was doing. He truly didn't want to look crazy, especially if there wasn't any smoke, but something deep down inside of him told him that asking his companion about something he was unsure was real was better than just believing he was crazy with no verification. "Do you have any ideas of what we could do today?" He asked, now trying to change the subject. After all, now that his hunting had failed, he didn't have anything to do. There was a little voice in the back of his mind telling him that there was in fact more he was going to do, but he couldn't figure out what that more was. Pree

Pree padded after Duefas, eyes alert for any prey she could go after. Honestly, she couldn't say what drove her to look upwards, there just seemed to be a tiny voice in the back of her mind saying something was happening. That was when she saw the smoke billowing in the sky, setting her fur on end. And it looked like Duefas saw it too.
So why did he not say anything? He was just going to continue hunting?
Maybe that meant he wasn't too worried about it? He wasn't the type of wolf to let others die, so that must have meant he didn't think it was a danger. So Pree shouldn't be worried either, she guessed?
Yeah. She was still worried. Very worried. But she was going to pretend like she was not worried for just right now so she could hunt. After all, that was what they came here to do.
The first step was to get one of these rabbits out. She could hear the rodents in the ground below her paws, she just had to find an entrance. Once she did that, she barked into the tiny hole in the Earth.
And then the chase was on. The rabbit darted out a nearby exit, with Pree right on its tail. Her tongue lolled out of her mouth as she chased down the furball, excitement pulsing through her as she closed the distance between herself and her prey, before finally ending it all.
She was just catching her breath when Duefas joined her, and she stifled a bit of a giggle. "That's okay. You can have mine." She nosed the morsel over to the other coywolf, when he finally spoke of the smoke.
So he is worried. He just didn't know if it was real.
Pree turned her gaze back to the smoke, her mouth going a little dry as she nodded. It was definitely very worrisome. And she wasn't fully certain she would know what to do if that fire came closer.
"I think we should go back." She blurted out. Surely they needed to warn the others, right? After all, if that fire was coming their way, she didn't want to be here when it arrived. @duefas , 372 Words, Pree tried being brave. It didn't work
