As each of them bit the moose end's to shred, the beast had only one option left. Turn and face them as the group of them moved to circle and enclose him. Cecilia moved to the sidelines, her awkwardness when hunting might cause the group distractions if she wasn't careful, plus this will be a good way to highlight any last remaining strengths or weaknesses. Ebony gave the group an example on how to attack the moose. His experience allowed him to safely engage and disengage but during the entire encounter Cecilia felt worried. They haven't engaged prey that could do harm to them for a reason. They lacked a salutary and any knowledge on how to tend serious wounds. If something were to go wrong, how was she supposed to help him?Once he was safely out of harms way she relaxed and turned her attention to the rogues, taking notes. The siblings moved in synch, non-verbal ques spoken between the trio. As the siblings got into place the others attacked and distracted the moose. They were all paying attention to one another and attacking in ways that weren't reckless or put another in harms way. The male of the group was the one to finally end the moose's life. With a loud thud, the moose fell to the ground. Cecilia let out a loud howl in celebration of their first hunt and kill as a group. She let the sound echo throw the clearing, hoping the others would join in with her, blending their voices in harmonious glee. A quick bark from Quill had her stopping abruptly, head swiveling to the side to see what he saw before being collided with. A stranger was on top of her but the smell was too familiar and quickly became suffocating. Her head began to pound as memories began to crash against her wall. She let out a whine of panic, twisting her body away, not registering that the attack was one out of affection and not harm. She yelped and eyes searched for Ebony's own, hoping to see him coming to her rescue. Then the stranger spoke, âCecilia! Iâm so glad youâre here! Iâve missed you!â and the a tidal wave of emotion and memories hit her. Her chest began to constrict and she felt panic take hold of her completely. Flashes of memory began to swirl in her mind making her queasy. She snapped her jaws towards the male in panicked fury, attempting to free herself from him. "Get off me!" She cried out, twisting around and pushing with her legs at the other. "EBONY!" She begged for him to come help her.
She was starting to feel helpless until she felt his weight leave her and she lurched herself forward. Whipping around she backed away from the male, eyes focused on him. Ears were flat against her head, a low growl leaving her chest as a warning to stay away.
But the growling stopped just as quickly as it started. This was a wolf she recognized. Relief rushed through her before she could even put a name to a face. This was... "Brother?" Cecilia choked, not realizing she had begun crying. "D-Doxxie?" recalling her own brother had her recalling everything else. Emotional whiplash hit her; grief, happiness, sadness, relief flooded her system.
Letting out a whine she took an uncertain step back, her vision growing dark around the edges. "H-how?" she whispered, how was he standing before her? She couldn't remember everything, and the more she tried the more she felt pain. Her breaths came quickly as she began to sway on her feet. One last whimper left her before she collapsed.

During the finale of the hunt, when the siblings skillfully arranged a final blow that would take the moose down for good, Ebony employed what use he had in surveying the positions of each member. Euphoria's personality was beginning to shine through her diluted reserve. The promising reward of a successful hunt such as this was a reasonable catalyst for any wolf's confidence, and Ebony was pleased to see her performance improve so quickly. In fact, everybody's energy seemed to be bouncing off one another as they united under a common goal, their actions aligning to achieve the inevitable conclusion of sharing a well-earned meal. The timing of the reunion that followed, however, would require the rogues to postpone their triumph just a little longer, an anticipation even Ebony was resigned to overcome. âUh, incoming, guys.â "Maddox," Ebony breathed quietly upon his storming entrance through the group's hunting course, but Cecilia's focus was diverted away from Ebony's hushed report as evident in her flailing response. This was a unique situation, one that called for every facet of Ebony's long-tested sense of wit in sentimental situations. He had bound himself to Cecilia's very will but what she asked of him through her desperate cries was something he amounted to a mistake. It was becoming of Ebony's turbulent journey through the conflicts and miracles of the finer emotions to simply stay out of this one. And, as he nearly suspected, that was all he needed to do for Cecilia to conquer her ownââ thud."She's fine," Ebony commented before any of the other wolves, who were less familiar with Cecilia's foibles when it came to processing intense social encounters, ran to an unnecessary rescue. Ebony trekked calmly in Maddox' direction, passing the white lump of Cecilia's body casually though with a silent whiff of affirmation as he scanned her belly for movementââ Alive. "I'm sure Cecelia would have given you a warmer welcome, but our years of isolation appear to have misplaced her affections. Allow me to welcome you home," he delivered with a semblance of warmth Maddox had likely learned many years ago never to expect form Ebony's stoic tone. There was a pause in Ebony's frame, a processing glitch cycling through every code he had learned to decipher what comes next in this situation. A smile? A hug? In a jolt of decided resistance Ebony's body whipped around, skipping ahead to the command he knew how to properly execute. "Well done, newcomers. Don't let us keep you; you have all earned this remarkable feast, and a home in Lubrusca.""We should wake her before the crows get to her," Ebony muttered to Maddox with not a single hint of sarcasm before leaning down to nuzzle Cecilia's cheek, attempting to regain her consciousness. I Hold On To This Pride Because These Days, It's All I Have The moose fell before Iris's paws, marking the end of the hunt. Her paws still tingled from the thrill the chase had been, and Iris had to take deep breaths, returning back to her usual state of calm. That was, until Quill let out a warning. Iris looked around, searching for a threat, but what she saw was.... not what she expected. A wolf was charging towards them, but Iris wasn't sure what to think of it. There was no way that wolf was actually planning an attack, right?
Well, clearly not, as he bowled Cecilia over with affection. Quill made a remark, and Iris snorted. "You'll get your ears clawed off before you bowl me over like that."
Poor Cecilia seemed to be having trouble processing the sudden appearance of this new wolf. What she did not expect was for the white wolf to collapse where she stood. Iris was about to take a step forward, but Ebony quickly intercepted, stating that the she-wolf was fine. Still, Iris found herself standing in place, not quite sure what to do with this situation.
Ebony spoke with this newcomer, who was apparently Cecilia's brother and gone for years. No wonder why the reactions were so extreme. She couldn't imagine being separated from either Clover or Quill that long. Even now, she found her gaze searching for the two, if only to reaffirm in her own mind that they were still there.
The black wolf then returned back to the group of rogues, inviting them to eat as was promised earlier, as well as welcoming them all into the pack. Even Iris had to smile at that thought. Their journey came to an end here. They made a home in Lubrusca, just like their parents had wanted. She couldn't help but wonder if, somehow, her parents could see them now, standing over this moose, no longer a group of rogues, but as a pack. She wanted to cry when Ebony gave those words of affirmation. Joy and relief and a bittersweet sadness just rushed over her all at once. But instead of crying, she tucked herself into the moose, distracting herself with her first meal as a Lubrusca wolf.

Mayerthu sat gracefully next to the kill her demeanor calm, cool, and blank. Her fine features showing no hints of the bloodlust moments prior. She leisurely glanced at the others observing their behaviors, trying to find inconsistencies and tactful ways to approach and grow closer to them. Mayerthu's distinguishing gaze slid over Ebony. He was like her but... not. She noted to herself. 'Cecilia as timid as she is, is the wolf who keeps Ebony grounded... I doubt he would be remotely approachable without her. Clover is... scratchy and reminds me of bramble patches. Iris seems to be the babied one of the three, her body language screams lack of confidence but also seems to have the most potential. Quill makes me uneasy; he seems aloof, but his gaze does not sit right with me, it's like he knows what I'm thinking... Euphoria seems to have a shy personality but also a comforting aura, I'll enjoy time with her.' Her thoughts evaluated the wolves she had come in contact with judging them solely on what she had observed so far. Mayerthu glanced at her paws noting the minor scratches from the running and a slight throb in her shoulder was present from her tumble earlier. She looked at the surrounding forest to scan for plants she recognized in hopes to start making a stash soon of the ones that could be helpful to her and the others. Her attention was immediately drawn to a male pelting out of the trees and crashing into Cecilia forcefully dousing her in affection. Mayerthu held in her distaste. 'Surely Ebony will stop this, his mate is being smothered.' She quipped inwardly looking at the charcoal wolf, but he simply sat there as Cecilia lost her marbles. Then, she collapsed. Straight up flopped out of consciousness. Mayerthu was taken aback and cocked her head in confusion, wondering if Cecilia had died before all of them. Ebony reassured them that she was okay and Mayerthu resumed her previous position. Listening she felt herself smile as they were welcomed to the pack and allowed to eat. She couldn't remember the last time she had smiled over something so simple yet here she was, her face being lit up prettily at the prospect of home. Her tail wagging, she playfully bumped Iris as she also took a fleshy bite of moose. Home. They were all home now and damn! did it taste good. Quill Cecilia Ebony Iris Euphoria Maddox Clover

He was so consumed by giving his sister affection that he hadnât realized how uncomfortable she was until her jaws were snapping at him and she was trying to free herself from him. He would not fight it, instead he would look at his sister with a confused expression. Hurt lingered underneath, did Cecilia truly not remember him? He would figure it had been awhile but there was no way she would have forgotten him, right? As she cried for Ebony, Maddox felt himself curling away from her. He didnât want to hurt her anymore. He had just been so happy⊠was that not what she wanted? Did she not want him around? The thoughts flashed through his mind as she was growling at him, but then it suddenly stopped. Her nickname for him stuttered from her maw as she whined afterward. What was going on? He wanted to comfort her, to tell her that it was okay, that he didnât mean to scare her. But then she was collapsing and panic set in. Maddox had never seen such a thing before, no matter how long he had been around. No wolf had ever reacted in such a way to him and part of him wanted to tuck tail and run. But his sister knew who he was, so surely when she woke they could talk about it. Ebony was quick to greet him and offer words that held warmth that he would have never expected from the black beast. That warmth was gone quickly however, and he spoke to all the newcomers. And with another comment, he was nuzzling at Ceciliaâs cheek to try and wake her up. Maddox felt like heâd just experienced a flurry of events and the whiplash had his head spinning. But he would crawl forward, nuzzling Cecilia before starting to lick her soothingly. It was something their father had always did when they were younger and thus without words, Maddox just simply tended to his sister, waiting for her to wake up. Heâd stop for a moment to look towards Ebony before giving a small tilt of his head. âIs it just the two of you left?â He asked quietly. His train of thought would be interrupted by howls at the borders. He looked towards Ebony, waiting to see if he would ask him to come in Cecilia's place, or if they would wait for her to wake up in order to go. More wolves at the borders meant they would either be accept or denied. And he almost felt like he heard his brother's voice screaming through the trees. Ebony Cecilia

It wasn't soon after her attack that the giant beast finally came crashing down, an awful gurgling noise coming from its open windpipe that Quill had severed. Euphoria leaped back in surprise as its body landed with a loud thud. Did they really just kill that thing? Disbelief painted her expression as she looked to the others, gauging their own responses to this grand prize. Was she the only one here that had never killed, much less eaten, a moose? Cecilia let out an excited howl of joy, causing Euri to smile with great pride. Though, it wasn't soon after this that the unfamiliar scent of a newcomer drowned her senses, and in a flash he was suddenly on top of the she-wolf. Euphoria's once happily wagging tail immediately shot underneath her legs as the scene unfolded. It sure wasn't a malicious attack, but it certainly caught everyone by surprise, and Cecilia's cries only made it worse. The yearling took a weary step back, ducking her head as her eyes darted to Ebony for instruction. "Maddox." he spoke in a hushed tone to himself, his body language proving to be relatively calm. With that small indication, the lupine loosed up slightly and cocked her head towards the cheerful new wolf. This must have been someone they were familiar with, even though Cecilia's initial reaction proved otherwise. "Brother..?" she squeaked quietly, finally getting a moment to settle down. Ah, that made more sense. Euphoria perked her ears curiously, looking back and forth between the pack wolves. The white she-wolf began hyperventilating, and shortly after her body fell limp to the ground. The lupine took a few steps forward, nose sniffing the air around them cautiously. Did.. did she just die?! "She's fine," came Ebony's quick response, trying to reassure all the newcomers after this strange event. Once again, Euphoria allowed herself to relax, though worry still riddled her hazel orbs. The darker brute began talking intently towards this brother of Cecilia's, a sort of familiar warmth in his tone. "Well done, newcomers. Don't let us keep you; you have all earned this remarkable feast, and a home in Lubrusca," his attention suddenly turned to address the lot of them, welcoming them to finally dig in. More importantly, though, they had all been accepted! Euri's tail began wagging a mile a minute, her face beaming with joy. For once, she appeared to act more her age, all giddy and playful like a pup greeting their parents after a long departure. After a long journey of solitude and fighting to survive as an unexperienced teenager, she had finally found herself a comfortable spot within this pack, and the opportunity to really develop her skills. The she-wolf followed quickly after the others to their kill, finding a softer spot in the moose's tough flesh to sink her teeth into. The blood was still quite warm, and a burst of flavors hit her tongue in an instant. As she ate, her tail continued to wag happily. Ebony , Cecilia , Quill , Iris , Clover , Mayerthu , Maddox

Cecilia's breathing was even and calm, the movement behind her lids normal, and if you hadn't been there to witness the breakdown unfold, you would have thought she was simply sleeping. However, a glance towards anyone watching on who have that in doubt as some looked at the young she-wolf as if she just keeled over and died. At the very least, Cecilia would get the mental break she needed after everything that has been thrown her way. Inside the she-wolf's mind was a war that waged. On one side, a being dressed in fog stood at the ready, broadsword in hand, in front of what looked like castle walls. The opposing side was a being of bright light, dressed in golden robes and held a staff of light. Each step the Angel of Light took seemed to burn the Guardian of Fog, forcing the strange being further and further back against the castle gate. As the Angel of Light stood in front of the Guardian of Fog, merely feet away, the being shrinks more and more, until there is nothing. With a steady hand, the light that defeated the fog touches the gate, which opens to a misty, dark room. As the force moves into the room, the being illuminates the hall and light lands across dusted, old furniture that casts shadows on the walls. Tall walls reveal paints of happy memories and treasured individuals. One painting shows an outline of a elegant wolf, but the face is blurry. Gazing at the painting for a while holds the feeling of motherly love but loneliness and sadness. The hall goes back farther and as the Angel of Light moves through the hall, the paintings on the wall grow fewer with time. Eventually there is only two wolves that are shown on these paintings, and when gazing on these two there is a mixture of emotions that have one's chest clenching. Sorrow, loneliness, love, dedication, swift moments of happiness, and peace and quiet. So much quiet. Eventually, the being gets to the end where a large door stands. There is a strong unknown feeling that persists here, and the force doesn't seem to want to touch this door. Moments continue to pass, and eventually the being moves its staff to light rap against the wood. Slowly, painfully slow, the door begin to creak open and light brighter than the Angel floods the hall. The mist and remainder of the fog lift, and the dust swirels into the air as the bright sunlight brings a gust of wind through the chamber. A nuzzle to the cheek was the first sensation Cecilia felt, a twitch of her nose and she knew that the touch belonged to Ebony. She didn't want to wake up quite yet, so she let out a small murmur, to unintelligible for anyone to make out. However, soft licks began to rise her mind from her stupor, the images that were in her mind now fading fast. This moment reminded her so much of her father, the gentleness and warmth from gesture had her tilting her head into it. "Dad?" she whispered, cracking her soft gray orbs to stare at a familiar face. Then all of what happened came rushing back to her. How terribly Cecilia had acted and the embarrassment she caused herself, and to Ebony more than likely. Ears flattening against her skull as she stared at her brother, " I'm sorry," she said quietly, her tone pained as she could have guessed the hurt she caused her brother. " I..." her voice trailed softly, she didn't know where to begin. She didn't even know what happened. " I'm not sure what happened," reverting her gaze, she glanced at her paws as she adjusted herself onto her stomach. " I..." still no words would form for her, glancing back to her brother, she couldn't help but start smiling. " You're back," a soft wag of her tail, and she moved her had closer to her brother looking for permission to enter his space. Once he gave it, she licked at his muzzle softly. " I'm so glad you're back, I missed you." Sharing the moment with her brother healed a piece of her that she didn't know needed to be healed. She snuggled into Maddox, resting her head underneath his. She closed her eyes and pressed into him, wishing that nothing would pull her away from this moment. Then she heard a howl in the distance. Letting a small sigh escape her lips, she looked at her brother apologetically before rising to her feet. Shaking her coat out, she glanced to Ebony and approached him. Head low and ears to the side, eyeing the male slightly ashamed. " I'm sorry," she spoke softly to him so only he could hear, pressing her snout to his neck. " I should have controlled myself better, I wont let it happen again," she looked him in the eyes, hoping he understood that she was serious. That she wouldn't let herself loose control of her emotions and be a risk to watch out for. " But, what did I miss?" she asked him, her voice a little louder and also glancing at Maddox's way to see if he would add anything. The howl that came she was sure was from their southern border, perhaps there had been more calls. Would Ebony trust her to go there with Maddox and bring back the recruits? Would he join them? Or would he have her stay here with the ones who just passed their test?

Ebony's senses kicked into gear when Maddox asked him the question. This was a rare reunion, he was coming to realize, and it enticed him to express a shadow of gratitude under his mostly indifferent tone. "It was," he remarked while observing in the affirmative direction of Maddox' attention that this small junction might soon grow. One more nudge to Cecilia's cheek would have her wake just in time to see to the action at the borders, but her apologetic comments to him brought about a disorderly ailment to his mind, a fascination with her guilt he couldn't fathom. What was this idea wolves had about controlling their emotions? Wasn't there something about them simply meant to be experienced? Something intuitive and teaching in their ups and downs? Even Ebony could see that. "Cecilia, you know it doesn't matter to me," his straight tone raised before the Lubruscan, vibrating into the muzzle that pressed against his throat. Finally, his attention was pulled back to the scents and sounds coming from the outskirts, and a long gaze up into the atmosphere confirmed his need to be swift about it. "You should go with your brother the borders." His observant white eyes, devoid of any wanting, landed on her expectant expression, but they were just as quick to survey the newly commissioned Lubruscan packwolves finishing their feast. "Mayerthu," he called, his memory of her talents fresh in his mind. "You will be my informant. I want you to go with Cecilia and Maddox and report your findings to me." Mayerthu was observant, diligent and thorough. Her presence at the borders would be a necessary buffer while Cecilia and Maddox predictably engaged in a logic-stripping emotional reuinion with who Ebony believed was calling at the borders. There were more there besides him, and he trusted Mayerthu to properly assess their intentions before bringing them back to Ebony. "Quill, Iris and Clover. You work exceptionally well together, and I'd like you to remain a team. As my vanguard you will be the first responders in any hunts and scouting missions I may task you with. And Euphoria, you are young, but I believe you can be trained to accomplish anything," he said with something like reminiscence in his voice as he recalled memories of Cecilia. "You'll remain an apprentice, for now." "We'll be heading to our rendezvous site now. Follow me." Ebony could feel the chill in in the air growing as the clouds came in heavier above them. It would be raining by the time they arrived at the commons, and by morning a storm was sure to pass over. There were a few skeletons left of the dens that once painted the forest floor, plenty for his new pack wolves to refurbish and find cover in for tonight. -Exit to Commons- Quill , Cecilia , Iris , Mayerthu , Maddox , Euphoria , Clover

Finally, after Quill made the killing blow, the moose toppled over with a satisfying thump. Clover proudly looked at her siblings and the other wolves who worked very hard to kill this giant beast. She approached her brother, noticing he was having some trouble getting the blood off his face. She rolled her eyes and with a chuckle licked off the few droplets from under his eyes. "Where would you be without me?" She snorted and turned to leave. Before she could, she felt the air around Quill tense up. She instinctively turned around just as he announced the presence of another wolf. It was her first instinct to jump in front of her siblings to protect them, but as she did, she realised that the incoming strangers did not seem like a threat whatsoever. She relaxed her stance slightly observing the scene.
This rogue ran into Cecilia with immense speed, causing both of them to topple over. This male began smothering her in affection, causing Clover to raise a brow. Just as she did, she heard Quill whisper to her and Iris. âNext time I leave you guys for more than ten minutes, thatâs how Iâll greet you when I return.â She turned to him as if he just said something offensive, but just as quickly, her features softened and she smiled at him, "Just don't injure yourself." That was also a reference to the fact that Cecilia was now on the ground, presumably unconscious, either from shock or that this wolf just suffocated her. Whatever the reason was, she brushed it off. "She's fine." She heard Ebony's comment. From what she could gather from his conversation with this rogue, this new wolf was Cecilia's brother. After their conversation, Ebony turned to the rogues, "Well done, newcomers. Don't let us keep you; you have all earned this remarkable feast, and a home in Lubrusca." Despite her face and posture not showing it at all, she was very excited and happy. She playfully nudged her siblings, "We did it, guys!" Clover whispered lovingly before she walked over to the moose carcass to eat. Her fangs ripped into the flesh of the beast, it was much easier now that it wasn't moving. She savoured the flavour in her mouth, proud that they downed this moose so quickly. She was not a rogue anymore, but a wolf of Lubrusca, just like her parents wanted.
After a few minutes of eating non-stop, Clover's ears perked up at the sound of Ebony calling Mayerthu. He assigned her the role of an informant. Interesting... She assumed an informant was the same thing as a scout. Then Ebony called the siblings. Clover stood up and walked over proudly towards the male wolf. "Quill, Iris and Clover. You work exceptionally well together, and I'd like you to remain a team. As my vanguard, you will be the first responders in any hunts and scouting missions I may task you with. And Euphoria, you are young, but I believe you can be trained to accomplish anything," he informed them. For the first time today, Clover showed a genuinely happy smile. "Thank you, Ebony. Thank you for accepting us, we promise we won't let you down." She spoke on behalf of her siblings, her voice confident and proud.
-Exit to: Commons- Shortly, everyone was instructed to follow him further into the pack lands. With her siblings by her side, Clover breathed out in relief and pride, and with a light chuckle followed Ebony to their new home.

As stoic as ever, Ebony offered Maddox an answer that seemed hopeful. He had found his way back to his family, so the others could as well. He hoped that he would be able to help as much as he could, knowing that he now had adventures under his belt that only aided him instead of hindering him. He was no longer the bumbling pup that Ebony would have remembered from Maddoxâs youth. He was now a bright and intelligent soul. As the howls that rang out echoed in his ears, Cecilia found herself awake and Maddox gave his sister a gentle lick on the head as she apologized. âItâs okay. A lot just happened,â He told her as he soothed her worries. Ebony was quick to reassure her as well, it seemed like this happened quite a bit when it came to Cecilia. He was unsure what happened to his sister in the time that he was gone, but the loss of their family was evident. As Ebony quickly addressed the howls from the borders, Maddox gave a nod, bringing himself to his paws.
He would look towards Cecilia, waiting for her to prepare to leave while he listened to the last of Ebonyâs words. It seemed the ranks of Lubrusca had changed. The traditional ranks they grew up with were being discarded in place of others that Ebony saw fit. He wondered what his rank would be. When he had left, heâd only been an apprentice. Now he was fully grown, knowing his way around various topics that he wouldnât have known before. Maddox would have to ask when he returned, as Ebony had entrusted him to go to the borders with Cecilia and Mayerthu. He was unsure of who the latter was, but as she stepped forward, Maddox would give her a nod before he turned to Cecilia. âLead the way,â He told his sister with a happy smile, eyes warm with love as he stared towards her before following her lead towards the borders where they would find themselves encountering a couple familiar faces.

I Hold On To This Pride Because These Days, It's All I Have Cecilia seemed to be alright, just as Ebony had promised, and for that Iris was grateful, even if she wasn't initially worried. Although Iris did have to wonder how often this happened. Did she simply get overwhelmed? Or did she have an illness that reacts to extreme emotions? Well, whatever it was, Iris decided she wouldn't ponder over it too long. Obviously Ebony did not see it as a threat to her life, so Iris shouldn't be too concerned. At least now her reunion with her brother seemed a bit more like one would expect.
Iris lay down on her side, letting the grasses tickle against her fur as she allowed her full stomach to settle. She couldn't remember the last time she had eaten so much, and she soon found her eyes drifting closed, content. For the first time since the drought that drove her from her home, Iris felt totally at peace. Of course she knew not every day would be this good, it never was, but for now, Iris was happy.
Ebony had begun to address them once more, and Iris got to her paws to stand at attention. The role he had given her seemed easy enough. It was what she had always done, working alongside her siblings. Now their team had merely been given a name. And she had to admit, she did like the sound of being a Vanguard. Nodding along to the words of Clover, Iris walked beside her brother and sister, her fellow Vanguard, as Ebony led them home.

Eventually, the pretty she-wolf Cecilia came to rise from her panicked state, though any further conversation that went on between the three was muffled by the loud crunching and chewing of her jaw as she gorged. Euri fought to be a little more modest as she filled her stomach, but in reality she hadn't had a meal in several days and she couldn't help but be particularly eager, especially with such a prized kill. All too quickly, it seemed the dark male had began to bark orders once again, forcing the lupine to lift her maw from the flesh. Mayerthu was directed to join Cece and her brother toward the borders once more, and as an informant she was meant to investigate the newcomers and take any noteworthy details. With that, the small group took their leave back in the direction they had all come. The trio of siblings were next on Ebony's mind, as he deemed them vanguards, essentially the leaders of any upcoming hunts or scouting missions. This was fitting for the three after they had shown remarkable teamwork, and they each expressed their gratitude to the new rank. These ranks were rather unfamiliar to Euphoria, a peculiar choice of words indeed, but she liked the elegance of it and eagerly awaited her own title. "Euphoria, you are young, but I believe you can be trained to accomplish anything," he turned his expression towards her as he addressed her. The she-wolf wagged her tail shyly at the compliment, getting flashbacks of her mother who was the only wolf who had believed in her until this day. "You'll remain an apprentice, for now." Oh. Well, it doesn't sound as cool as the others but i'll take it, I guess. Euri bowed her head deeply in thanks, but before she could say anything further, Ebony announced that they were all leaving. Her pouting expression revealed that she was not yet ready to leave, but she didn't have a choice as the male turned and lead the way home. Euphoria turned back to the moose carcass one last time, tearing a mouthful of meat away before cantering after the others. She would soon learn that there was no need to be greedy with her food, and she had no need to fear any of these wolves as long as she existed in Lubrusca. She hoped that Ebony's words were true, and that she would grow to become skilled in many different areas. ~Exit~ Mayerthu, Maddox, Cecilia, Ebony, Quill, Iris, Clover

Quill snickered when, predictably, Iris put his wellbeing on the line should he attempt to bowl her over. âNot my pretty ears,â He gasped, voice full of faux affront as he cowered closer to the temporarily less violent Clover, slipping to the other side of her and peering warily over at Iris from behind the questionable protection of his sisterâs flankâ a truly silly sight, considering that he was larger than them both. Cecilia had fainted, something that caused the easygoing brute to blink before turning a questioning gaze towards Ebony. The great black beast seemed to take it in stride, though, and soon enough the pale-furred she-wolf was back on her feet and greeting the male that was, apparently, her brother. Quill raised one brow in the slightest, wondering at how the lupess had the heart to handle a thundering moose but not a rambunctious brother. Perhaps it had been the surprise? With a dismissive flick of his tail, he turned to the moose and tore into the parts of its belly that the others had already opened, more than happy to bypass the skin-and-fur part of the meal to go straight for the guts and fat. The howls at the border barely made him prick his ears, but Ebonyâs low voice was able to pull him from the ever-important task of filling his belly. Vanguard, huh? It had a nice ring to it, and he did like that heâd be able to continue working with his littermates. The idea of being the first to respond to anything was far less appealing, but he supposed it would have been a bit much to ask that âprofessional napperâ be made an actual position. âYeah, we did.â He said in response to Cloverâs happy whisper, expression content as he looked between his two family members. He wished there were some way to communicate to their parents that theyâd succeeded. The distant rumble of thunder drew him from his musings, and he lifted his head to observe the clouds rolling in. Licking the blood from his muzzle, he knew from the heaviness of the air and the scent on the wind that it would soon start to rain. âNow youâre speakinâ my language.â He woofed back to Ebony as the other male began to lead their entourage back to the commons that would become their new home. || Exit to Commons || Iris Clover
