| [attr="class","athenaquote"]Short Quote Here [break][attr="class","athenapost"]Within 8 weeks her rogue life had been virtually swept away before her eyes, only leaving the remnants of memory that often occupied her dreams. Last night, she had awoken suddenly as she dreamt Red's lovely figure vanishing within the snowstorm years back, her scent fading quickly with her image. Athena cried out, but her voice seemed muffled and simply echoed in her ears. The lupine was more than likely whimpering in her sleep, but as soon as she awoke and her orbs found Red's sleeping figure, snuggled ever so close to her as she usually did, Athena's pounding heart settled and she breathed a relieved sigh. Secretly, she somehow feared that day would come back around at some point and sweep her dear friend away from her once again. The oncoming snowy season did not help this idea, either.
As the sun began peeking through the tree line and shedding its light into their cozy den, the she-wolf lazily opened her eyes and let out an enormous yawn. Red was still asleep next to her, and she couldn't help but nuzzle in ever so close to her neck, her quiet heartbeat ringing in her ears. It made her smile to herself, reminding herself that they were alive, well, and their relationship had flourished in their reunion. Athena laced her tail around Red's as a chilly breeze brought an icy drop in temperature to the air around them, savoring the warmth her friend gave. She didn't ever want to move from this position. She wished for nothing more than to linger here, next to Red, until the end of time, as their bodies grew old and frail and the life drained slowly from their figures, though their eyes would forever remain fixated on each other lovingly. Alas, soon the pack began to stir, and the murmurs of commotion and wakefulness buzzed in the commons. Athena shifted, daring to peek her head shyly from the burrows entrance to inspect the others. Rory, Blue, El, and the old Alpha Luke all lingered around one another with Rory's pups scampering about playfully as they watched. Athena couldn't help but feel a pang of jealousy, knowing that her small chance of ever having a family with Gideon had long passed. The little gremlins were too cute to be mad at though, and from what she had gathered Rory was turning out to be a wonderful mother. El, Blue, and Nevermore were a peculiar group of siblings. Red had explained to her their disabilities, but despite their differences they still seemed to exist among the pack with little to no setbacks. Midna, Link, and Zelda were another trio of siblings here, whom originated from the previous Alphess and Alpha that occupied this territory years back. And then there was another slew of superiors whom she had yet to interact with much. Draco and Aelin appeared quite infatuated with one another, and were more times than not seen lingering together, just like herself and Red. This was another relationship that pained her heart a little, but Athena was growing comfortable with the idea that she at least had Red. Otherwise, though, she felt very alone and exposed here. She made small efforts to conversate with the others, but her years of solitude showed through her awkwardness and lack of willingness to be overly friendly or open to anyone.
The fawn lupine settled back into their nest, resting her head on Red's shoulders after giving her cheek a quick lick. As usual, she would not be getting up until her general emerged first, where Athena would be on her tail and following happily wherever she went. Perhaps she appeared no less than one of Rory's pups to the others, even in her older age, clinging to Red like she could never be independent without them. But that didn't phase her much, as she had little care towards her outward obession to her friend. If Aelin could have Draco, Rory could have her pups, and the siblings could all have each other, Athena would happily remain with Red wherever she went. |

Life has been good to Merlin. It had come so suddenly, so clearly, all at once. It is like one day he took a breath and, with it, was imbibed with consciousness. And just like that, Merlin was aware. Aware of the world around him, the great lumbering trees that surround him, a billion times his size. In his first day of existence, he had been carried great distances and heâd seen so many things, learnt so much of what made up the Somnus pack borders without even having a concept of packs or borders. Merlin became aware of colours, new and bright and fascinating. He became aware of animals, strange and different to himself in ways that seem impossible. He became aware of other wolves. His mother, soft and warm. His brother, angry and sharp but lovely still. From the start, Merlin is filled with an ingrained and instinctive curiosity for the world around himâa curiosity he feeds at every chance he gets. He spends hours a day feeding it, exploring as far out as he can get away with, inspecting every plant and insectânew or old. For now, though, he is tired. Merlin nestles under the leaves of the fallen tree where a little dug-out space creates a warm and cozy spot for a tired young pup. He sits there quietly, a curled up lump of fur, and observes the things around him. He can see his mother, not far away and keeping watch. His brother, too, clawing at the side of a rock. He watches, for some time, before his eyes wander and he, too, catches sight of a rock. The rock is large at its tallest, but with a little flat spot a quarter of the way upâabout head-height for the pup. The sides are rough and textured, perfect to dig his claws into. It calls his name and Merlin, who is yet to learn self-control, wanders over to it. He glances once in the direction of his mother, who sees him but does not stop him and chooses to interpret that as permission. The first few attempts go poorly. He canât get any grip on the rock and his back paws slip before finding purchase. However, he keeps at it, and slowly gains a knack for it. He has to take a short running start but, with perseverance, he manages to pull himself up to the flat spot. It is⌠Amazing! He can see so much from up here. He can see the top of the fallen tree, where mosses and lichens and ferns have taken hold. He can see over the tops of brush, where butterflies and bees flit about. Merlin stands, staring in utter awe at this discovery⌠That is, until his brother, crying out with anger, distracts him. Merlin turns to watch, without judgement (but perhaps finding it a little funny), sitting down on his rock, as his brother complains. Rory Tomlin

Blue was, of course, aware that she was in the midst of her halcyon days. Fed, content, with her siblings at her side, it wasnât to say that she hadnât been happy before. But the maternal she-wolf was happiest when there were little ones underfoot, and so Rory and her pups' introduction into Somnus had filled her with a peaceful joy that hadnât wavered in the last eight or so weeks that the new mother had made her home with them. Countless hours had been spent quietly whispering (or so she thought) the names of their newest arrivals with her siblings as her judge, an endless litany of Tomlin, Merlin, Rory until El and Nevermore confirmed the soundâs correctness. She slotted those names into the short list of words and phrases she could speak with confidence. Now, with morning light serving as her alarm clock, Blue had begun the day with El and Rory at her side. Nevermore had gone off into the territory proper with Midna at her side, which left her brother to nip at the ticklish fur at the tip of her left ear. It was a sort of game; sheâd flick the appendage down and away before slowly lifting it again, challenging him to try and grasp it again before she flattened it out of reach. She lost, mostly, high gigglish yips and slight squirms a dead giveaway of just how ticklish she found it. But, still, she didnât move away. Tomlin and Merlin were trying their best to clamber up the stones littered around the commons. Merlin, slightly more sensible than the spitfire Tommi (as she had fondly dubbed the child), had succeeded in his own efforts to climb a rock of manageable size. On the other hand, Tomlin was currently trying to beat his own rock into submission, unsuccessfully; she watched as his headbutt and subsequent cries (soundless, to her) sent Rory padding over to see what the little pup had gotten himself into. Meanwhile, Blue meandered over to Merlinâs perch, snuffling fondly at the top of his head and thinking how very odd it was, to see him nearly as tall as her chin while atop his stone. Oh, to think that heâd soon reach that height all on his own! She wanted him to stay this small and cute forever. The alabaster she-wolf crooned, brushing a bit of dirt from his little flank before the press of Elâs paw drew her attention away. She inspected Elâs shape in the snow with a critical eye, expression stern and consideringâ at least, for as long as she could make it so. It was no time at all before the fake countenance cracked, and she grinned, tongue lolling. Ten out of ten, she rated it mentally, reaching towards the snow angel and drawing a silly smile onto its maw. She dipped her head towards Luke as he approached, smile warming once her brother translated the simple greeting for her. She raised her own paw in a jaunty little wave. Blue puffed out a breath as Tomlin returned to the scene, dashing over and clambering up her side; she winced slightly as his tiny claws pressed into her flank, and nipped his ear lightly to chide him. You need to build up to climbing bigger things, she advised mentally, lamenting her lack of verbal ability. Even so, she nodded towards a smaller rock, showing clear agreement. Besides, she didnât want him attempting anything too large just yet; her heart would break if he hurt himself falling from something so tall. The scent of blood on the wind was unfortunately familiar, and the petite wolf got to her paws, a hissing whine slipping from between her lips as she nudged Tommi towards his mother. When Merlin stayed put upon his rock, she bustled over to him, grabbing him by his scruff and carrying him over to sit beside his brother, just before Aura entered the commons with a bleeding stranger in tow. Already she could tell that he was sliding in and out of consciousness, and she bristled, alarmed. Her voice rose in its own unrestrained howl, merging harmoniously with Zeldaâs own by coincidence as she aimed to call her sister and her sisterâs charge back to them. She certainly didnât have the expertise needed to attend to the wounded maleâs needs, and didnât think that any other present did. With tentative, worried steps, she moved closer to the new wolf, head lowering to rasp her tongue over his forehead in an attempt to keep him awake and present. [nospaces][googlefont="Gotu:700,400"][googlefont="Rubik Distressed:700,400"] | [attr="class","main"]Her chuckle was like music to his ears, something that he enjoyed and always wanted to hear. As she spoke, her soft voice made him hum and nuzzle underneath her head affectionately as he listened to her. Of course, she would know what he was thinking. Heâd spoken it out loud but she would have seen the tell tale signs of him thinking as the cogs turned. Draco was a simple male, one that was so easily figured out. And since they had spent the majority of their lives together, he and Aelin had an understanding that many failed to have with their mates. But obviously even with that understanding he still missed the tell tale signs of pregnancy in his mate that shared the same den as him. Of course, if she had gained any weight, he would never comment on it. He remembered the one time he did, and he shuddered at the thought of ever doing that again. As she confessed that she was pregnant once more, Dracoâs mind went static. [break][break] It was almost like everything had completely shut down, in favor of his shock and surprise that Aelin was now pregnant with their third litter. Would there be as many pups as before? Would they have fewer? He wondered how many new bundles of joy would fill his life. He was sure that no matter how many there were, they would still be a pawful. He had learned from his last two litters that no matter how many there were, you were still bound to lose them. Even when they had grown and aged out of the puppy stage, there was still the moody teenager phase, and the young adult phase that Draco almost dreaded. If only they would stay small, cute and receptive then maybe he wouldnât think his past children were pawfuls, even if he loved them dearly. âThatâs,â he started, looking towards her. âYou arenât pulling my leg are you? Youâre being serious?â But he already knew she was being serious. There was no way she would say something like that and get his hopes up. She would never do such a thing. [break][break] âOh Aelin, have I ever told you how you make me the happiest brute alive?â He said, licking underneath her chin. âHow long have you known? Has Nevermore checked you out? Everything feel normal?â He asked her, knowing that she would need to take it easy if she was far enough along in the pregnancy. As he shuffled, he looked around their den. âAnd weâre going to have to get more bedding in here,â He commented as his mind busied himself on what they would need to do to prepare, and what he would have to make sure his mate didnât do while pregnant. He knew she was ambitious and would try to perform duties, but Eureka would now need to know of the pregnancy so that she also was on the lookout and making sure that Aelin wasnât pushing herself. While she knew her own limits, Draco was still endlessly worried that she could end up hurting herself or their future children. He cared more for her well being since they had yet to come into the world, but he knew that if she ever hurt them, she would never forgive herself.

Those howls were something Midna could pin to scarce but severe memories and she knew just what they meant. Up until then she had been following Nevermore to the commons, but her speed would overcome the salutary's navigation upon capturing the alarm with her senses. Their short excursion to the lake was informative at best, but they were unable to pickup anything for Nevermore's stock but some ferns and chervil. It hadn't dawned on Midna that Nevermore was missing from her flank until the scene at the commons sent her eyes searching for the salutary, in need of her expertise. Midna wasn't easily frightened, but her stomach dropped when scanning the rogue's wound without a clue of what to do about it, and her salutary nowhere to be found.
"Zelda, I lost Nevermore in the woods," she darted with regret, but although her breath trembled from tight lungs she composed her presence with stoic resolution knowing that Nevermore had, at the very least, imparted some knowledge to Midna in the weeks past that may save this rogue's life. The inventory of herbs was short and dry in the salutary's den, but this was a good symptom for the oak leaves piled in the back and even better for the spiral of cobwebs leading to them. She put her thoughts there and left them for now; there was a more immediate purpose for the ferns she'd been tasked with transporting to the den.
Midna found the familiar visage of Rory and dotted her eyes over to the mossy poultice that had been shifted onto the rogue's neck. "I'll need to remove this so I can see the wound," Midna stated as she dipped her fern into the moss and scraped it away gently. She avoided her urges to squeeze her eyes shut the closer they came to the wound, as each press of the fern from her maw to the neck strengthened the rancid smell of blood and sulfur. She pulled away quickly so she could gag and cough away from the wound. "Sorry. Never done this before," her voice quivered apologetically to her unlucky patient.
Blood still spilled from the wound but it was clean enough for Midna to see what was going on inside. The impale struck the side of his larynx, but the force against the cartilage appeared to protect the trachea from further damage, as there was no exit wound beyond the cracked whites of his throat. It was apparent in the fact that the rogue was breathing fine with no flush of blood in every cycle of respiration. "This is good, I think. You should be okay," Midna said with some confidence as she spilled the chervil from her tongue over the wound. It was already warm and soft from sitting inside her cavity this long, so the juices flowed over the wound with ease. The chervil would prevent infection and ease some pain, but despite the worst seeming to be over, Midna wasn't about to make any promises without Nevermore here. Where are you?
Quickly, Midna leapt for the den. The wound she'd cleaned was prone to heavier bleeding so she'd need to be swift. Swishing her paw around Nevermore's den collected a small but promising collection of cobwebs around her arm. She could use the dried oak leaves in the back as a healing bandage over the wound that, once wrapped into place by the cobwebs, would keep out dangerous bacteria that may overcome the infection being fought by the chervil. Upon putting her plan into action she realized there wouldn't be enough webbing to completely wrap the neck. However, the moisture of the chervil juice would hopefully hold the oak leaves in place long enough. She tested her assumption by prodding her nose around the bandage. It moved slickly from side to side but maintained its suction to the wound.
"OKAY." Midna sat back, rewinding the process in her mind and recalling Nevermore's lessons to search for missed steps and issues. She cleaned the wound, prevented infection, sped the healing process and reduced risks of complication by closing the wound off to harmful bacteria. Check. "We're done here. I just need help moving you somewhere more comfortable, because I don't recommend getting on your feet for a day or two." Midna looked around and met eyes with Link and Percy, beckoning their aid with her demanding gaze. "Now where the hell is Nevermore?"

The absence of warmth was what woken Red. For months now, Red fell asleep next to her closest friend, Athena. Just as Red as predicted, Athena had been welcomed with open arms into the pack. Even with the friendliness of everyone, the gray she-wolf seemed to struggle to reach out without Red by her side. Red didnât mind being her safety blanket, but she hoped Athena would start to make friends here. Cracking an eye open, Red observed Athena peering out and watching the ongoings of the morning. Each passing day Red found herself more in love than the next. Something new she found beautiful or interesting, something to cherish or a new memory. Today was the way her ears twitched as she listened to what was going on but also everywhere around her. She knew this was a habit from being a rogue by the frequency of her swivels. She was still not as relaxed as Red would hope, but it had only been 8 weeks. With time Red was sure Athena would find her place here in the pack just as she had. As for her feelings for her closest friend, Red was unsure if she would ever share them with her. There was a part of Red where she knew Athena was still not fully over Gideon, and Red had doubt Athena shared the same deep feelings she did. Feeling the soft lick and return of the she-wolf to her side, Red let out a contented sigh. Bending her neck to hug Athena to her, she whispered softly, âGood Morning.â Stretching her legs out in front of her, she angled her back to her friend and pushed into her lovingly. âWhat do you want to do today?â she asked, angling her muzzle up to lick at the other's chin. | [attr="class","athenaquote"]Short Quote Here [break][attr="class","athenapost"]Red returned her affection with a brief hug before angling herself into the little spoon, where Athena happily wrapped an arm around her friend and nuzzled into her as she awoke. "Good morning," she spoke softly, making the lupines heart skip a beat momentarily. Athena had never developed romantic feelings towards a friend like Red before, but undoubtedly she could not place an idea on why she made her feel so.. bubbly sometimes. In her mind, she was simply infatuated with Red after loosing her for years, and she felt nothing wrong with her intimacy as Red had always excepted it. More so, Athena hadn't really made any mew friends in Somnus, so she was grateful to have someone to release her emotions to.
"What do you want to do today?" Red angled to lick at her chin as she inquired about todays activities. Hmm, that is a good question. Almost instantly, her mind drifted off to the big hunt her and Red had accomplished long ago, when they had developed a small rogue group of their own and it felt like they were on top of the world. Athena smiled at the thought. "How about.." she contemplated for a second, trying to find a way to enjoy her time with Red while also somehow contributing to her new family. "Why don't we set off on a hunt today? Maybe we could find some decent morsels of food to offer Rory and her pups?" she decided that this was the most inclusive plan she could muster while also being of some use to the pack. Athena shifted, hugging her paw closer to Red's chest as she looked towards her evergreen orbs. A solo hunt with Red seemed like a lot of fun, and she could sure use a way to release her energy rather than just accompanying her on general duties as usual. She gazed lovingly at her friend, hopeful that she would agree with her idea. If not, Athena would still be content joining her on whatever expedition she was tasked with, but taking a trip down memory lane would certainly be a joyous event. |

- the constant happiness is curiosity -
âIf it were a dream, would it have been a good one? I did pass by your den on the way to my own, last night. I hope I didnât disturb you.â
If there was anything at all in Eureka's mind that objected to the throb in her heart it was stuck straining against the bracing winds of Lorelei's affections. Even the quiet, magnetic repulsion between her comfort and her curiosity jolted forward an irresistible offering that howled "kiss her now!" The rising bustle of the commons was drawing this moment into a hasty whirl of potential; chattering voices indistinct but rhythmically in time with the ticking bomb inside her chest; the weaponized innocence of Lorelei's budding touch; it was all persuading the alphess to punctuate these closing seconds with a kiss that would secure the moment's return.
"Disturb me? No," Eureka quipped with a tone that equalled Lorelei's coy invitation with that cheeky smile. When Lorelei relaxed her frame Eureka closed the distance between their muzzles and whispered, "but I was kept up all night waiting for you to come back." Eureka swept her nose up across Lorelei's cheek and fulfilled the moment's affectionate plea with a lick over her ear.
In perfect time Eureka stepped away from Lorelei's den, denying herself the satisfaction of one more look at her if only to magnify her beauty the next time they spoke. Her proud stride struck a powerful bearing against the imposing arrival of two outlanders: Aura, who she was delighted to see again, and her infirm company, a rogue whose uniquely pale coloration was obscured by crimson and mud.
Most of the densite, which thankfully included Rory's family, was saved the stress of the ordeal by the selective placement of the body in relative isolation, where Midna could work in sufficient privacy. Nevermore's whereabouts, however, became Eureka's primary concern as Midna for some reason arrived alone. Eureka had plenty reason to be cued into worry when Somnus's primary navigator didn't make it home, and while Zelda was a capable aide, no search party was secure without the leadership of Somnus's guardian and, for that matter, brother to the missing salutary.
"El, go." In the meantime, her kittenish game with Lorelei needed to come to an end. When she turned to the sentinel there was favor in her gaze, but it was clear in her tone and poise that the only thing important to the alphess in that moment was protecting the pack. "Lorelei, go with Percy and Link to scout the borders. Make sure nothing followed that blood trail into our territory." Like last time, she thought somewhat bitterly in a short pause before her head craned in the direction of Blue's howl.
On her way to the remaining sibling of Nevermore, Eureka dipped her head into each of the dens, checking on the pups, on her Draco and Aelin, before she found left standing in a once teeming canvas of tiny footprints two of her wolves. One was Blue, to whom she approached with dart-like eyes and a stamp of her foot against the ground that said Stay here. Over Luke her eyes washed with physical and emotional examination. His spark was gone, something Eureka could sense with ease nowadays. "Luke... could I have a moment?"
With his permission Eureka beckoned him towards his old den. There was dense history in this fortified structure of stone and earth, fragments of Luke's life embedded within its walls, but through his aged form she could see its memories weren't enough to fulfill him.
"Having you back in my life has brought me happiness that I will always be thankful for," she expelled with an ambivalent sigh. "But I can't help but wonder if you are truly happy here. I worry that I have nothing to give you, that I've made you a home made of bones. Though I wish I could, I can't give you your life back... but you can start a new one." She finished with a question on her tongue, for what she was asking of him was too difficult to say outright.

He was happy just to observe those around him as he sat, one good eye watching those around him. His brother had yet to emerge from his den with Aelin which was pretty common for the two as they were probably sleeping in for the morning. They were still enjoying their time together he was sure. He wondered if that would be he and Wren if he were to have found her again. If he were to have been fortunate enough to encounter her at the borders right along with his siblings. But it seemed that no matter how long he waited, fate would not bring his mate to Somnus to reunite them and potentially take them back to Noctis together. Luke feared going back to Noctis alone, to find himself there without Wren. It was not home without her and his children. He knew that much. His one good eye drifted towards Eureka as she approached, her voice something that broke the melancholy that was his thoughts in the bleak morning he'd taken in for himself. She was right, he had lost most of the spark that had once been there. With the loss of a leg, an eye and his family from Noctis, there was only so much he could have now, and that was the family he had remaining in Somnus. He loved his brother and sister dearly but it wasn't the same. Getting up, he followed her to the den, making his way to the place that held many memories that they shared from their puphood into their teens. It held so many memories that Luke cherished, and he knew that the other two did as well. There were still small signs of Ariel and Abel in the den as well, even if they didn't make it far in life. From small scuffs on the wall, to scratch marks that they had all made. And simple memories that they all had. Everything they could have ever done in their lives up until they were allowed to roam was done in this den and the history was etched into the walls that surrounded them. Listening to his sister, he knew her concerns, he could sense them from the beginning. The way she finished her sentence, its as if there a question lingering, one that she wished to ask, but it was as if it was too difficult to, the question that lingered in the back of their minds but didn't wish to come forth. Because it would hurt if it did. The painful truth was that Luke wasn't ready to move on yet from his previous life. He clung to it with one last hope that Wren and his sons would find him, that they could be a happy family once more. That they could be together and they could find themselves in a place where they could be happy. They could travel back to Noctis and start new. He clung so feverishly to the hope that there would be that future for him. There would be something for them that fate would string together for him. As he opened his mouth to speak, he felt a sudden wave of nausea hit him, his feet suddenly wavering underneath him as he felt himself growing rather light headed as he stumbled. He wasn't sure what the onset was, but as he crumpled to the ground, he couldn't say anything besides a mumble of his sisters name before he felt the nausea overcome him as he slid into unconsciousness. [googlefont="Kulim Park:700,400"][googlefont="Lato:700,400"] | | With her two boys now not in the middle of the commotion happening outside, she felt a bit more at ease. Though the pups probably didnât like being back in the den for the moment, Rory had an idea that may divert their attention elsewhere. âWhy donât we play a game?â
Now that the words had been spoken, her mind was searching for objects and things that they could do in such an enclosed space. Coughing for a few seconds before her thought process started up again, she shivered. She then had a bit of a lightbulb moment before speaking once more.
âIâll name a color, and the first one to find something that is the color I named gets to pick the next color.â
Looking around the den, most things were dull browns and tans, but there was a bit of yellow dying grass near the corner. Hopefully they would be stumped for a minute or two. Licking both her children on the top of their head, she smiled, âThe first color is yellow.â Not able to stop yet another coughing fit, her body shook once more, but this time longer.
As the coughing ended, just as soon a horrible feeling of lightheadedness washed over her making her vision brighten before she really did feel as light as a feather. Then all she felt or saw was black.

After one of the pack wolves tended to his wound, keeping future blood loss at a minimum, staying awake had become slightly easier. Her words freaked him a bit at first however, especially the ânever done this beforeâ. Even with the lack of experience, Vesper still rated the care an 8/10 for effort and the attempt at keeping him stable. By no means was he fine and dandy though, even the pack wolf said something like that. Looking around, gaining his bearings somewhat, he noticed that quite a lot of wolves were outside in this open area. This place was definitely one that he hadnât been to or seen before.
Even though the pain was still very prominent in their mind, they chose to push it away and focus on the snow that had started falling from the sky. They knew winter was coming, but they never thought it would be here this quickly. The little dots of cold white frost melted almost instantly when they touched the ground or his body. It wasnât yet cold enough for it to stick yet, they supposed. Some of the little specks landed on their nose, and their tail thumped the ground beside them for a second out of reflex. It had certainly been awhile since they last saw or interacted with snow, but it brought some happy thoughts to the surface for sure.

[nospaces][googlefont="Gotu:700,400"][googlefont="Rubik Distressed:700,400"] | [attr="class","main"]He found himself so lost in his own thoughts about his pups that he truly forgot he was supposed to be the Alpha of the pack still. Family had always come first for him, no matter how much Draco didn't want to admit to it. The bustling of the pack had gone completely unnoticed by the male as he lay inside, enjoying and basking in the moment he was spending with his mate, but his ears swiveled as he heard a howl. His head immediately popped out and he looked towards Eureka's den. He wasn't sure where his sister or brother were. Were they capable of getting that? But surely he was too. Looking back towards Aelin, the large brute gave a small whine before nuzzling under his mate's chin. "Duty calls. But I will make sure that this den is prepare for our pups. Just you wait," He told her before stepping out, the large beast passing by Eureka's den before catching the scent of illness that was wrought before he stopped. [break][break] "Eureka are you alright?" He called, but the scene he came upon as he poked his head into her den made Draco widen his eyes. Luke was unconscious on the ground, and Eureka was there with him. But there was still someone waiting at the borders and the howl sounded quite familiar. "I'll have someone fetch Nevermore or Midna," He said to her quickly before turning and scanning the clearing for someone close enough. "Someone fetch Nevermore or Midna immediately and bring them to Eureka's den!" He barked out, making sure that whoever understood that it was not in fact him asking, it was an order. [break][break] He quickly turned on his heel, heading towards the border where he would hopefully meet a familiar face, one that was needed right now, especially for his brother's sake. Link watched in shock as his sister, M I D N A, came to the rescue, of all wolves. The lazy, selfish hermit saves the day! This was no time for laughter, so Link swallowed the fit of humbled gigglges bouncing around in his throat, returning his focus fervently to the matter at hand. He met Midna's eyes with a recognition of her command, a newfound respect for her inspiring him to actually listen to it. The rogue was heavy, but with Percy's help Link managed to relocate them to a densite. Safely? Certainly. Comfortably? Probably not. But they must have filtered out the pain at this point, evident in their thumping tail. "How did you get impaled by a deer, anyway?" Link asked in disbelief, popping his head up to Percy shortly after. "Have you ever seen that?" He asked the professional fighter. Surely, if anybody had experience with such dangerous foes, it would be him. "I guess it's in the name. Heh, never even heard of a spike deer."

"Wow Midna, you've learned a lot from Nevermore!" Merida praised as she watched her niece accomplish a seemingly impossible task. "Hang in there," she whispered to the rogue. Today, Merida put on her cheerleader hat, and she made it her business to keep the spirits high. With a half-dead rogue dropped in the middle of the commons and Nevermore missing, it was a necessary challenge. Her time here in Somnus had been plagued by tragedy what with the loss of her sister, of Ocean, who she had grown fond of, and many others. The front line of friendly faces she grew to love in her first months here were gone, leaving her nieces and nephew as Merdia's priority. She felt a duty to them as their only remaining bloodline next to Percy. Link had taken over her position with the rogue. Merida resonated with his radiant spirit, so she left him with a shadow of pride as she made her rounds at the commons. She hadn't seen much of Rory since Aura arrived. She assumed they would want to see each other, considering their history, so Merida tasked herself with relieving Rory of her motherly duties. "Hey Rory," she began, dipping her head into her den. Did she hear coughing? "Why don't you let me-" Merida got stuck on her words as Rory's coughing fit intensified. "Shoot, are you okay?" Before she could respond, Rory fell unconscious. Another loud thump sounded behind her, and turning around she saw the commotion where Eureka and Luke had been talking privately. "Someone fetch Nevermore or Midna immediately and bring them to Eureka's den!" Draco yelled out. Merida chittered her teeth and yipped in Midna's direction. "Over here, too. It's Rory." I know you've gotten good at this, but we really need Nevermore right now. She thought nervously. Merida took a deep, calming breath, closing her eyes briefly with her head still stationed at Rory's densite. "Okay friends," she began, mustering a gentle, positive tone of voice as she spoke to the pups. "You and I are going to help mommy together with a scavenger hunt. Everyone needs to find a dewey leaf with water on it and bring it right back here. Ready? Let's go!" Merida swiftly left the den, waiting for the pups to follow. It was hard to keep herself together, but staying positive helped her feel a sense of stability when things felt like mayhem. "Find the biggest water leaf you can!" Merida marched off, keeping an eye on the pups as she scouted for any source of water she could find. Until Midna was available to help Rory, this was all there was to do. As he was carried by two wolves into a den, Vesper felt a bit of guilt that they even needed to do so. Surely, it wasnt his fault that stupid spike elk came back for a 'round two', but still. One of the wolves questioned how he even got impaled anyways, to which he just sort of grinned a laugh. He didn't even know how it happened it went by so quickly. They would have tried to tell the friendly male that, had they been able to speak. Instead, an alternate way of communication woukd need to be used to tell this story. Their eyes sweot the den floor for a stick before finding one not too far away. Gently grabbing the stick, to keep from causing themself any more pain, they stopped to think. Hopefully, the wolves woukd be able to sort of tell what happened, and even if they couldn't, the drawing was getting their mind off of the throbbing hole in their neck. He started off by drawing a blob that was supposed to be him. "This is already off to a greaat start." With a snort, he continued his stick drawing, playing out the scene as well as he could. The most laughable part of the whole thing was probably the other wolves' watching of this game of draw and guess. The way Vesper meant for this whole thing to go was for him do drag his stick through the dirt and make a few small gestures, and the wolves would guess what it was he was referring to. The little blobs and lines ended up covering most of the soft earth around him. It was suffice to say that Vesper's art skills weren't the best, but then again, not many wolves made a habit of covering the floor in caveman drawings. Link Percy
